Prevention

The Runaway and Homeless Youth Act defines youth homelessness as young people who cannot live in a safe environment with a relative/guardian and who have no other safe living arrangement.

Oak Tree Youth Resources believes young people have the right to safe, stable housing they can live in daily. Youth being without housing is a problem in rural SW Colorado. Family restorative assistance and recommendations are available. We believe preventing teens from becoming homeless means educating and supporting parents to build safe, structured environment for teens. Our team works with local resources to offer parents, guardians and youth a supportive mentor and programming to increase knowledge of their developing teen. Together, we can walk with SW Colorado youth into a safer future.
