🌿 A youth-centered support system
🌱 Expanding access to resources
🌳 A community anchor for rural youth
💚 Compassionate support, not a checklist

Oak Tree Youth Resources is a youth-serving nonprofit existing to help meet the critical needs of at-risk youth aged 12-24 in La Plata and other rural counties of Southwest Colorado. We offer young people the opportunity to have a caring advocate walk alongside them as they work toward the goals they hope to achieve. At Oak Tree Youth Resources, we believe that creating connections with our team, our services, and our community can spark in youth their journey toward health, purpose, and lasting stability.
Rental Assistance

Young people who are unhoused and at imminent risk of being unhoused (ages 18-24) may apply for our rental assistance program through the Coordinated Entry System. This program offers eligible participants the opportunity to receive some support with a rent.
Case Management

Upon entering our program, each youth can meet with an advocate who will help identify their strengths, explain programs available, and connect them with our services and community resources to support their stability and well-being.
Education

Our programs assist youth to re-enroll in school, (even if they are an unaccompanied minor) pursue their GED, enroll in Job Corps, or take the steps to advance towards higher education or trade certification.
Employment

We offer employment support and can connect youth to the Workforce Center to equip youth with essential skills for long-term self-sufficiency, including resume-building, job seeking, workplace appearance and behavior, and interview techniques.
Physical & Mental Health Care
Young people can receive referrals and individualized case management to connect them with medical and mental health services beyond our organization. Access to mental health appointments and recovery groups provides comprehensive support for both their physical and emotional well-being. Additionally, we offer a Young People in Recovery group (YPR ages 14-21) weekly on Tuesday 4:30-5:30pm, with pizza provided.
